Traditional 36-volt systems can become a collection of heavy cases, jumper cables and corrosion-prone terminals. Marine trolling-motor banks commonly create 36V by wiring three 12V lead-acid batteries in series, while many classic golf carts use six 6V batteries or another multi-battery configuration. Either approach occupies valuable space, adds substantial weight and allows system voltage to decline as the bank discharges.
Epoch 36V lithium batteries consolidate that power into a native-voltage LiFePO4 platform. A correctly sized 36V LiFePO4 battery provides lighter, maintenance-free deep-cycle energy, a flatter discharge curve and integrated Battery Management System protection. The result is a cleaner installation for compatible trolling motors, golf carts, off-grid systems and specialized 36V equipment.
The current Epoch collection includes a compact 36V 50Ah battery for marine and off-grid use, a higher-capacity 36V 100Ah battery, and a purpose-built 36V 105Ah golf cart conversion kit. Current models are rated for 3,500 or more cycles, with the 50Ah model rated for 4,000 or more cycles, and every battery presently shown in the collection carries an 11-year limited warranty, starting with 3 or 5 years of free coverage depending on the series, then 40% off MSRP on a replacement battery.
Replacing three 12V batteries with one 36V battery can simplify a compatible marine system dramatically. A native-voltage pack also offers similar advantages when replacing the larger lead-acid bank found in a 36V golf cart:
The representative graph below illustrates why a 36V lithium battery can keep a compatible motor feeling more responsive later in the day. A 38.4V-nominal LiFePO4 pack stays near its working voltage through most of the discharge, while a 36V lead-acid bank made from three 12V batteries declines more progressively as stored capacity is used.
A 36V lithium trolling motor battery is a strong choice for compatible high-thrust systems on tournament bass boats, bay boats and offshore center consoles. Current 36V-capable platforms include selected Minn Kota Ultrex and QUEST models, Garmin Force, Lowrance Ghost and Power-Pole MOVE systems. GPS anchoring and heavy wind or current can create sustained demand, making battery voltage, usable energy and continuous-output capability especially important.
Compatibility depends on electrical specifications, not brand name alone. Confirm the motor's required voltage and maximum current, then match the battery's continuous output, breaker, cable gauge, connectors and charger to the manufacturer's guidance. A flat LiFePO4 discharge curve helps maintain steadier voltage, but it cannot guarantee all-day runtime under every speed setting or condition.
A 36V lithium golf cart battery can transform many older and classic carts, including compatible EZGO TXT and Club Car DS configurations. Epoch's 36V 105Ah golf cart kit includes the LiFePO4 battery, a 36V lithium charger, dashboard battery gauge and 12V converter, with cart-specific configuration options shown on the product page.
Battery voltage must match the cart's electrical architecture. A 36V battery is not a proper substitute for a 48V battery, and a 48V battery must not be installed in a 36V cart without a complete, correctly engineered conversion. Verify the motor, controller, solenoid, charger, wiring, accessory voltage and regenerative-braking requirements before beginning an EZGO 36V lithium upgrade or another cart conversion.
A 36V deep cycle battery can also support compatible solar, backup, mobile and industrial equipment built around a 36V DC bus. Because 36V is less common than 12V, 24V or 48V in some markets, confirm that the inverter, solar charge controller, DC converter and charger support the battery's operating and charging range. Size cables, disconnects and overcurrent protection for the application's maximum current.
Epoch's 36V 50Ah Essential Series battery stores 1.92kWh, weighs approximately 35 pounds and supports 100A continuous discharge. A 36V 50Ah lithium battery holds about the same planned usable energy as three 12V 100Ah lead-acid batteries when that lead-acid bank is limited to roughly 50% depth of discharge. It is a compelling lightweight option for compatible trolling motors and other systems whose current and runtime requirements fit its ratings.
The 36V 100Ah lithium battery doubles stored energy to 3.84kWh and supports 120A continuous discharge. At approximately 75 pounds, it is intended for applications that need longer runtime, greater reserve or a larger daily energy budget. The model supports parallel expansion within Epoch's published limits, but matched batteries, balanced cabling, correct fusing and an appropriately sized charger are essential.
The 105Ah golf cart battery weighs approximately 81 pounds and delivers 200A continuous discharge, with substantially higher short-duration peak output for acceleration, hill climbing and regenerative charging. This is the collection's cart-focused solution. Actual driving range varies with vehicle weight, passenger load, tire diameter, lift height, terrain, speed, controller settings and driving style.

Cycle life is rated per model, at the depth of discharge, charge rate and temperature stated on the datasheet, to its end-of-life capacity.
Epoch 36V LiFePO4 batteries consolidate the power of a multi-battery lead-acid bank into one streamlined package. Replacing three 12V marine batteries or a larger golf-cart bank can remove substantial weight, reclaim valuable space and eliminate external series jumpers, reducing the number of connections that can corrode, develop resistance or complicate troubleshooting.
Epoch’s flatter lithium discharge curve provides more consistent voltage and deeper usable capacity than a traditionally managed lead-acid bank, helping compatible motors and vehicles maintain stronger performance throughout use. Every current 36V model includes an integrated Battery Management System, Bluetooth monitoring and an 11-year limited warranty (3 or 5 years of free coverage depending on the series, then 40% off MSRP on a replacement battery), while published cycle ratings of 3,500 or more support long-term deep-cycle operation.
Epoch offers a lightweight 50Ah model for suitable trolling motors and compact systems, a 100Ah battery for extended marine or off-grid runtime, and a 105Ah complete golf-cart kit with a charger, gauge, 12V converter and 200A continuous output. When the battery is matched to the equipment’s voltage, current, runtime and installation requirements, Epoch’s combination of efficiency, durability and application-specific engineering makes it the best all-around solution for compatible 36V systems.

FAQ
The questions customers ask most before they order, answered in plain English.
Yes, in a compatible 36V system. Match the replacement battery's stored and usable energy, continuous and peak current, dimensions, terminal layout, and charging profile to the existing load. A native 36V lithium battery can eliminate the two series jumpers, reduce weight, and free up battery space in a marine three-battery bank.
Yes. Use a dedicated 36V charger or programmable charging component with a LiFePO4 charging profile approved for the selected battery. A 12V charger cannot charge a 36V battery, and some older lead-acid chargers may use incompatible voltage settings, equalization modes, or temperature compensation. Always follow the charging specifications in the Epoch battery manual for your specific model.
Runtime depends on average current draw, motor efficiency, speed setting, wind, water current, vegetation, and boat load. As a simple estimate, a 36V 50Ah battery supplying an average 10A load could provide about five hours of runtime, while a 20A average load could provide about 2.5 hours before accounting for reserve capacity and system losses. Intermittent trolling motor use may support a full fishing day, but actual runtime varies by operating conditions.
No. A 36V lithium battery is not a direct replacement for a golf cart designed to operate on a 48V battery system and may result in poor performance or no operation. The battery voltage should match the cart's motor, controller, solenoid, charger, and accessories unless the entire electrical system is properly converted for a different voltage.
A 36V lithium battery may improve acceleration, hill response, handling, and overall performance by reducing battery weight and voltage sag compared with a heavy or aging lead-acid battery bank. However, lithium batteries do not automatically increase a motor's maximum RPM or top speed. Final speed depends on factors such as the motor, controller, gearing, propeller or hull design, tire size, vehicle load, and system settings.
