Epoch LiFePO4 Batteries: Power for the Way You Use It

A battery in a golf cart, RV, boat or off-grid power system may run for hours, recharge and do the same work again tomorrow. Epoch LiFePO4 batteries are built for that repeated-use pattern, with choices for the voltage, energy capacity and output you need.

LiFePO4, or lithium iron phosphate, is a type of lithium-ion chemistry valued for long cycle life and thermal stability. Compared with a flooded lead-acid bank, a well-matched LiFePO4 battery can provide more usable energy for its size, steadier voltage and less routine maintenance. It also avoids the weight and many interconnecting cables of some lead-acid installations.

Epoch's LiFePO4 collection spans 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V and 72V options, each with a built-in battery management system (BMS). Start with what you need to power, then match the battery, charger and installation to that job.

Why LiFePO4 Is Such a Strong Choice for Deep-Cycle Power

  • Built for repeated charging and discharging: LiFePO4 suits deep-cycle service in RVs, carts and solar banks. Published cycle-life ratings vary by model and depend on use.
  • More useful energy from the battery you carry: Relative to many lead-acid systems, LiFePO4 can deliver more of its stored energy with steadier voltage. Lower weight can benefit a moving vehicle.
  • Less battery upkeep: Epoch LiFePO4 batteries do not need the watering or acid-level checks associated with flooded lead-acid batteries. Owners should still inspect terminals, cables, fuses, mounts and charging equipment as part of normal system care.
  • A chemistry chosen with safety in mind: LiFePO4 offers favorable thermal stability compared with some other lithium-ion cathode chemistries. Epoch adds a BMS to manage operating limits. Correct wiring, protection, mounting and charging remain essential.

These benefits make LiFePO4 a compelling lead-acid replacement, but a trolling motor, inverter and golf cart controller demand different current and enclosure specifications.

Match the chemistry to the work
Use case Why Epoch LiFePO4 fits What to confirm
RVs and camper vans House power for lights, refrigeration, pumps and an appropriately sized inverter, with no flooded-battery watering. Daily energy use, inverter draw, converter and alternator charging, space and cold-weather plans.
Boats and trolling motors Deep-cycle energy for time on the water, with 12V, 24V and 36V choices for different systems. Motor voltage, sustained current, charging system and enclosure rating; use a specifically cranking-rated model for engine starting.
Golf carts Compatible conversion kits simplify replacing a multi-battery lead-acid bank and support repeated daily drives. Cart voltage, controller demand, battery tray, mounting configuration and matched charger.
Off-grid and backup power LiFePO4 stores solar or shore power for regular use and is available in higher-voltage storage formats. Usable energy target, inverter compatibility, charge controls, communications and installation conditions.
Voltage, monitoring, self-heating, water resistance, cranking capability and warranty coverage differ by Epoch model. Read the selected product page and manual before designing the system.

Practical Power in RVs, Boats, Carts and Solar Systems

Comfort and Flexibility Away from a Hookup

In an RV or van, the house bank may support a refrigerator all day, lights at night and an inverter in the morning. Epoch offers compact 12V batteries and larger-capacity models. A camper spending two nights away from a hookup should estimate both nights' energy use and expected solar or driving recharge. Higher inverter loads also require checking the battery's continuous output, cable sizing and system voltage.

Off-grid cabins and backup systems store energy for use after sunset or during outages. Epoch's energy-storage lineup includes server-rack and higher-capacity options. A cabin that runs lights and a refrigerator overnight needs a different reserve than a home backing up larger appliances. Configure the inverter, solar charge controller and protection devices together with the battery.

Dependable Days on the Water and on the Move

A trolling motor can draw for long stretches, making lighter deep-cycle power and steady voltage useful on the water. Epoch offers marine choices across multiple voltages and specifically labeled cranking and deep-cycle products for engine starting. For a long fishing day, factor wind, motor speed and electronics into the energy budget. Match an outboard's starting requirement and charging system to an approved product.

For a golf cart, a compatible Epoch conversion kit can replace a lead-acid bank with a lithium pack and charging and monitoring pieces. That reduces battery-bay clutter and watering. A cart climbing hills with passengers needs more output and energy than one used for short, level trips. Check cart voltage, tray size, controller current and accessory wiring.

What Sets the Epoch Lineup Apart

Epoch combines the chemistry with a range of configurations. Eco Series models provide straightforward LiFePO4 energy for value-focused builds. Essential offers choices including Bluetooth monitoring and heated versions. Pro includes marine-focused models and specifically labeled dual-purpose cranking options. Elite models serve more involved systems, with select communication features; golf cart kits are packaged around vehicle conversion. This range lets you choose features that solve your installation's needs without paying for a specification you will not use.

Look at the individual battery before treating a feature as standard. For example, Bluetooth and self-heating are available on certain models, but not on every Epoch LiFePO4 battery. Enclosure ratings and warranty terms also differ; the collection lists coverage of up to 11 years, while some models have a shorter stated term. Select by the product's published current rating, energy, dimensions and environmental limits as well as its series name.

LiFePO4, Lead Acid and Other Lithium Chemistries

Flooded lead acid can cost less initially, but it brings watering, heavy banks and more limited usable capacity in many regularly cycled systems. A properly sized Epoch LiFePO4 upgrade may reduce maintenance and provide longer service in deep-cycle use. Actual value depends on purchase price, charging equipment, installation and how many cycles the battery sees.

LiFePO4 is itself a lithium-ion chemistry. Other lithium-ion cathodes can pack more energy into a smaller or lighter cell, which may be a better priority for some applications. For carts, marine house loads, RV living and stationary storage, LiFePO4's balance of cycle life, thermal stability and usable power makes it a strong fit. Match the chemistry and product to the use rather than treating one battery type as the best answer everywhere.

Make the Upgrade Fit the Entire System

  • Size the power: Add up energy use between charges and identify the highest continuous and short-term current your motor or inverter will demand. Compare those numbers with the exact Epoch model's ratings.
  • Check the physical installation: Measure the space, plan secure mounting and verify cables, fuses, disconnects and any required accessories. Confirm whether the model's enclosure rating suits its location.
  • Match the charging: Use a charger or configurable converter with the correct LiFePO4 profile, voltage and current limits. Do not connect a lead-acid charger or mix lead-acid and lithium batteries in the same bank without a system design that keeps them separate.
  • Plan for temperature and monitoring: Epoch's BMS blocks charging when cells are too cold; select a self-heating model if the battery must accept a charge in freezing conditions. Decide whether your system needs app-based monitoring or inverter communications, then choose a model that lists that feature.

Choose Epoch LiFePO4 for Your Next Build

The best battery solution begins with the work it has to do. For repeated deep-cycle power, Epoch LiFePO4 batteries offer a compelling blend of useful energy, lower maintenance and application-specific choices. Whether you are replacing a lead-acid cart bank, building an RV house system, powering a boat or storing solar energy, there is a way to select for the voltage, output and features you actually need.

  • Amazing!! I Love it!!

This battery has far exceeded all of my expectations. I’m an off grid outdoorsman, this battery is powering my 27’ camp trailer. The technology here is a game changer. Absolutely NO comparison. I had to modify the rack/tray (as pointed out by sales rep) to accommodate the larger footprint of the battery (it is larger in all 3 dimensions LWH). 11 yr warranty! It’s a no brainer! First trip out 5 days. Lights, showers, pumped 35+ gallons water, phone chargers etc. still sitting at 13.4 volts. Same as when we started. (Did not need to run heat/AC). My old batteries would have been toast.
