What lithium battery do I need for my 48V golf cart?
Our 48V GC2 batteries are module units with each module being its own 48V battery.
When you combine multiple 48V modules together in parallel, the capacity and power stack giving you longer run-times and greater power output capabilities.
This is different from a typical lead acid battery configuration where you would have 6V or 8V batteries and connect them in a series configuration. In this scenario, the voltage stacks but the capacity and power does not.
We will go thru the typical carts and what we recommend for each:
Class 1 – Standard Golf Carts
Cart speed of 10-16mph and stock controller
Standard Setup: 2 x 48V GC2 Batteries (60Ah) = 20-25 Miles
Extended Range Setup: 3 x 48V GC2 Batteries (90Ah) = 30-35 Miles
Class 2 – Upgraded Golf Carts
Cart speed of 17-24mph and upgraded/modified controller.
Standard Setup: 3 x 48V GC2 Batteries (90Ah) = 25-30 Miles
Extended Range Setup: 4 x 48V GC2 Batteries (120Ah) = 35-40 Miles
Class 3 – High Performance, Off-road and 6+ Passengers
Cart speed of 25-35mph and upgraded/modified controller.
Examples: Polaris Ranger, 48V Gem, 6 Passenger
Standard Setup: 6 x 48V GC2 Batteries (180Ah) = 25-30 Miles
Extended Range Setup: 8 x 48V GC2 Batteries (240Ah) = 35-40 Miles
- Epoch 48V GC2 modules are capable of being stacked in parallel up to 10 units or 300Ah total.
- You can add additional modules to your setup at any time.
