Three-output smart shore-power charging

Victron Phoenix Smart IP43 Charger 12/50 (3) 120-240V | PSC125053095

A premium 12V 50A Victron charger with three isolated outputs, Bluetooth, VE.Direct, programmable lithium profiles, and universal 120/240V shore-power input.

The Victron Phoenix Smart IP43 charger 12/50 (3) is built for boats, RVs, and off-grid systems that run more than one 12V battery bank. Part PSC125053095 provides three isolated outputs, so a single charger can maintain compatible house, bow-thruster, trolling-motor, or auxiliary banks while sharing a combined 50A charging capacity, with VictronConnect Bluetooth control and VE.Direct system integration.

Multi-Bank Charging: The Three-Output Advantage

Charge three separate compatible 12V battery banks without installing three chargers.

The three-output version keeps the connected banks isolated from one another, prevents unwanted current flow between banks, and distributes the available charging current according to each bank’s voltage, state of charge, and capacity.

Each individual output can supply up to the full 50A rating, but the combined current across all three outputs is limited to 50A. The outputs also share one charge cycle and one voltage profile, so all connected batteries must be compatible with the same charging algorithm.

Three Full-Current-Capable Isolated Outputs

Any one output can deliver the full rated current when needed, while total charger output remains capped at 50A. This makes the system flexible without treating the unit as three separate 50A chargers.

Built for Complex Marine and RV Systems

Use one 3-bank charger for compatible 12V house, windlass, bow-thruster, trolling-motor, or auxiliary banks. Separate monitoring is recommended when individual bank voltage, current, and state-of-charge data are required.

Intelligent, Programmable Lithium Charging

Configure the charger for Epoch LiFePO4, AGM, GEL, flooded lead-acid, or other approved 12V batteries.

Victron’s adaptive charging system provides selectable normal, high, and lithium modes. Lead-acid profiles use an adaptive six-stage algorithm, while the built-in lithium profile uses a dedicated three-stage process. The charge algorithm is also fully programmable through Bluetooth or VE.Direct, allowing the installation to match the exact voltage and current limits published by the battery manufacturer.

The lithium preset uses 14.2V absorption, no conventional float stage, and 13.5V storage. For an Epoch battery bank, confirm and enter the charging values for the exact battery model before commissioning, and make sure every connected bank is compatible with the one selected profile.

Built for Global Shore Power

Universal 120/240V-class input for marinas, campgrounds, generators, and international installations.

The charger operates from 85–250VAC at 45–65Hz, reaches full rated output from 100VAC, and can start at approximately 90VAC. A configurable 3–10A AC input-current limit helps match charging demand to a smaller generator or limited shore-power circuit.

The IEC C14 AC inlet includes a retainer clip, but the country-specific mains cord is purchased separately. North American installations commonly pair this charger with Victron’s ADA010100400 NEMA 5-15P mains cord.

IP43 electronics protection

Marine-oriented protection does not mean waterproof installation.

The electronics enclosure is rated IP43 and the connection area IP22. Mount the charger vertically in a dry, protected, naturally ventilated location with the AC inlet, DC terminals, remote connector, relay, and VE.Direct port protected from direct spray, standing water, high moisture, and condensation.

Recommended accessories

Complete the installation with the correct AC cord, data cable, monitoring, and DC protection.

Installation and charging note

Treat each output as a separately fused battery connection while respecting the charger’s shared profile and total-current limit.

The country-specific AC cord is sold separately. Install suitable DC cabling and battery-side overcurrent protection for every connected bank, observe polarity, mount the charger vertically with adequate ventilation, and program one charge profile that is safe for all connected batteries. Installation should be completed by a qualified person where marine, RV, or electrical codes require it.

Frequently asked questions

Victron Phoenix Smart IP43 12/50 (3) FAQs

Common questions about three-output charging, current sharing, lithium settings, shore power, monitoring, and installation.

What does the “(3)” mean in the charger name?

The (3) identifies three isolated battery outputs. One charger can connect to three separate, compatible 12V battery banks while preventing current flow between those banks. The outputs share one charging algorithm and one combined 50A current limit.

Does each of the three outputs provide 50A at the same time?

No. Any individual output can supply up to the full rated 50A when the other banks need little or no current, but the combined current across all three outputs can never exceed 50A. Current is distributed between the connected banks according to their voltage, state of charge, and capacity.

Can I connect three different battery chemistries or charging profiles?

Not recommended. The three outputs are isolated, but they are not regulated independently. One charge cycle and one charge-voltage profile is applied to all outputs, so the connected batteries should be compatible with the same charging algorithm, typically the same chemistry and similar voltage requirements.

Does the charger include an AC mains cord?

No. The charger uses an IEC C14 AC inlet with a retainer clip, and the country-specific mains cord is ordered separately. North American installations typically use Victron part ADA010100400, the 2-meter NEMA 5-15P mains cord, after confirming the outlet and installation requirements.

Can I use this charger with Epoch 12V LiFePO4 batteries?

Yes, provided all connected battery banks are compatible with the same charge profile and the charger is programmed to the exact battery specifications. The built-in lithium mode uses 14.2V absorption, no conventional float stage, and 13.5V storage; custom values can be entered through VictronConnect or VE.Direct.

Can I reduce the charging rate when using a small generator or limited shore-power outlet?

Yes. The front-panel low-current mode limits the 12/50 model to 25A DC output, and the maximum AC input-current setting can be configured from 3A to 10A. Choose limits that suit the AC source, battery-bank capacity, cable sizing, and connected loads.

Can I plug it into both 120V and 230V shore power?

Yes. This 120/240V model operates from 85–250VAC at 45–65Hz, delivers full output from 100VAC, and can start from approximately 90VAC. Use the correct country-specific mains cord, branch-circuit protection, and shore-power connection for the installation.

Is the Phoenix Smart IP43 charger waterproof?

No. The electronics enclosure is rated IP43 and the connection area is IP22. Install the charger vertically in a dry, protected, well-ventilated location where the AC inlet, DC terminals, VE.Direct port, and controls are not exposed to direct spray, standing water, or condensation.

Can I monitor all three batteries separately in VictronConnect?

VictronConnect reports the charger’s operating mode, charge stage, output voltage, total output current, history, warnings, and alarms. Because the three outputs share one charger and are not independently regulated, the charger does not provide three separate per-bank charging dashboards. Use separate battery monitors when individual bank data is required.

Does this charger also function as an inverter?

No. It is an AC-to-DC battery charger and configurable DC power supply. It does not convert battery DC power back into 120V AC. A Victron MultiPlus or MultiPlus-II is the appropriate product category when both charging and inverter functionality are required.
