The Victron 48V Smart IP43 Battery Charger is a dedicated shore-power solution for 48V lithium battery banks, marine systems, golf carts, RVs, and off-grid backup power. Unlike a generic charger, the PSC481350095 combines a 48V 13A output, programmable LiFePO4 charge profile, VictronConnect Bluetooth control, VE.Direct connectivity, and configurable power-supply operation in one professional charger.

The Smart IP43 Charger converts shore, grid, or generator power into a precisely controlled 48V charging output. It is ideal for systems that already use a separate inverter—or do not need one—but still require a safe, programmable method to charge an expensive 48V battery bank from AC power.
Built-in presets support LiFePO4, AGM, gel, and flooded lead-acid batteries, while advanced VictronConnect settings let installers tune charge voltage, absorption behavior, current limits, temperature compensation, and battery-protection thresholds to match the exact battery manufacturer’s recommendations.
Choose a built-in lithium, normal, or high-voltage preset, or create a custom profile through VictronConnect. The 48V lithium preset uses 56.8V absorption, no conventional float stage, and 54.0V storage, while custom settings can be entered for the exact Epoch battery model being charged.
Power Supply Mode disables the normal charge algorithm and delivers a constant, configurable DC voltage. This makes the charger useful for compatible 48V loads, commissioning work, diagnostics, and system testing—with or without a battery connected.
Use the VictronConnect app to select battery presets, create custom profiles, reduce output current, review live status and history, set alarms, lock the physical mode button, and install firmware updates without adding an external display.
Connect the charger to a compatible Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, or other GX device with a separate VE.Direct cable. The charger can then participate in centralized monitoring, control, data logging, and VRM remote access when the GX system is online.

The unit uses an IEC C14 inlet, and the country-specific mains cord is ordered separately, so use the correct NEMA 5-15P cord and a properly protected branch circuit for a North American household outlet.

Victron lists 130Ah as the recommended maximum battery capacity for the 48/13 model. The minimum recommended LiFePO4 capacity is 25Ah in normal mode and 12Ah in low-current mode. Larger banks may charge more slowly and should be evaluated against the battery manufacturer’s current and charging-time requirements.
A simple ideal estimate is capacity divided by charger current: 100Ah ÷ 13A is about 7.7 hours. Real charging normally takes longer because of absorption time, battery state, temperature, cable losses, current limits, and any loads operating while charging.
Yes. It includes integrated normal, high, recondition, and lithium modes, plus fully programmable settings. Recondition is intended only for lead-acid batteries when specifically required and should not be used for LiFePO4 batteries.
