48V Lithium Golf Cart Batteries

48V Lithium Golf Cart Batteries

48V Lithium Golf Cart Batteries

A 48V electric golf cart might carry a family through the neighborhood, make back-to-back rounds of golf or haul tools across a property. A tired lead-acid bank adds weight, requires watering and can make the cart feel less responsive as its voltage falls. Epoch 48V lithium golf cart batteries replace that routine with LiFePO4 power, a built-in battery management system and easier ways to see how much charge is left.

The Epoch 48V Lithium Golf Cart Batteries collection includes complete single-battery conversion kits in several capacities and a separate GC2 module option. For a compatible cart moving from lead-acid, a complete kit can bring together the battery, matching lithium charger, dashboard gauge and 12V accessory converter. The right choice depends on the existing voltage, the distance you travel, controller demand and the actual space beneath the seat.

Get More Useful Energy From the Battery Area

  • Carry less battery weight: Epoch's 48V 65Ah complete-kit battery weighs 66 pounds; the 105Ah weighs 99 pounds. Either may be much lighter than the lead-acid bank it replaces, depending on the old batteries and hardware.
  • Use more of the installed capacity: Lead-acid packs are commonly cycled conservatively for service life. LiFePO4 supports deeper routine use within the chosen model's limits, delivering more practical energy from comparable battery space.
  • Keep driving feel steadier: A flatter discharge curve helps a matched cart maintain more consistent power through much of a charge than an aging lead-acid bank.
  • Remove watering and extra links: One properly secured Big Box battery takes the place of multiple series-connected lead-acid cases, reducing inter-battery cable connections and eliminating flooded-cell watering.
  • Check charge instead of guessing: An included gauge and Bluetooth on the complete-kit batteries make reserve visible before the next trip.

More energy per battery area does not mean every capacity uses the same footprint. The 105Ah Mini is shorter and narrower than the standard 105Ah case but taller; 150Ah and 230Ah packs need more room. Measure the tray, hold-down points, terminal height, cable path and seat clearance. A clean single-pack installation should leave adequate room for safe mounting and service.

Choose the Epoch 48V Kit That Fits Your Route

Capacity determines stored energy and potential time between charges; the published continuous discharge rating helps establish whether a battery can support the controller's demand. The following complete kits illustrate the choices from a shorter everyday route to a higher-demand passenger or utility build.

Selected Epoch complete 48V lithium golf cart kits
Epoch battery Energy, output and weight Space and use case
48V 65Ah kit 3.33kWh; 200A continuous; 66 lb. 17.2 × 14.3 × 7.5 in; regular rounds, shorter neighborhood routes and lighter use.
48V 105Ah kit 5.38kWh; 200A continuous; 99 lb. 18.1 × 13.4 × 9.8 in; more stored energy for longer or repeated trips.
48V 105Ah Mini kit 5.38kWh; 200A continuous; 99 lb. 15.8 × 11.1 × 10.9 in; a different case shape, with a Club Car DS configuration.
48V 150Ah kit 7.68kWh; 300A continuous; 135 lb. 19.8 × 15.4 × 9.8 in; longer routes or heavier loads when mounting and controller match.
48V 230Ah kit 11.78kWh; 300A continuous; 196 lb. 23.5 × 14.4 × 9.9 in; extended duty where the large case and extra mass fit.
Published energy and output are battery specifications, not guaranteed range or speed. Terrain, passengers, tires, lift, controller settings, accessories and temperature change the result.

The collection also lists a long-case 48V 160Ah kit and a 48V 30Ah GC2 module. A GC2 module is a full 48V battery intended for a properly configured modular system, not a direct replacement for one 6V or 8V cell in the old lead-acid string. Check kit completeness, fit and availability for the exact model.

Match the Cart Before Removing Lead-Acid

Confirm 48V and the Right Physical Configuration

Identify the electric cart's model and count the old battery voltages. Six 8V batteries or four 12V batteries, for example, make a 48V traction bank. An Epoch 48V kit is for a compatible 48V system; a 36V or 72V vehicle needs its own correctly matched battery and electrical plan. Gas carts and some factory-lithium models require a separate assessment.

Epoch offers configuration choices for selected Club Car, EZGO and Yamaha carts. The standard and Mini 105Ah cases have the same listed energy and continuous output but different dimensions; the Mini has a Club Car DS selection. Do not treat either shape as a universal bolt-in. Measure the tray, check mounting hardware and terminal clearance, and verify the cart's controller demand against the battery's continuous and peak limits. Modified motors, larger tires, grades and passenger loads can raise current draw.

Use Compatible Charging and Accessory Power

Lead-acid chargers are not automatically suitable for LiFePO4. The complete kits include a matching charger, while kit contents and mounting components should be confirmed for the chosen configuration. Connect a properly sized 48V-to-12V converter for lights, horn or stereo rather than tapping just one part of the old series bank. A lead-acid voltage-only meter can misread lithium state of charge; use the included gauge.

Review cable condition, fuse protection, the charging port and any regenerative braking. Some older Club Car conversions also need onboard-computer treatment; the specific cart determines that step. If considering a factory-lithium replacement or high-output controller, an experienced golf-cart installer can check battery communications, charge behavior and physical restraints.

Bluetooth, BMS Protection and Daily Reliability

Epoch's complete-kit 48V batteries include Bluetooth monitoring. A compatible phone nearby can show state of charge, voltage, current and temperature through the Epoch app; the dash gauge keeps charge information in view during a drive. Check after the morning round, before carrying passengers uphill or before a property run with headlights on. Bluetooth is a local connection, so it does not automatically provide remote tracking or a precise mileage promise.

The integrated BMS helps protect against overcharge, excessive discharge, current and temperature conditions. LiFePO4's stable voltage, fewer inter-battery connections and lack of flooded-cell upkeep support a dependable routine when the pack is properly sized and installed. A protective cutoff can still interrupt the cart if demand or charging conditions exceed limits. Keep a return-trip reserve and confirm the controller settings.

The listed complete-kit batteries have IP67 enclosures and an 11-year manufacturer warranty; cycle ratings vary by model. IP67 covers the battery case under its rating conditions, not exposed wiring, the charger or the gauge. Keep the pack restrained, protect terminals and perform ordinary vehicle and connection inspections.

Convert a 48V Lead-Acid Cart in Four Steps

  • Document the vehicle: Confirm the electric 48V system, cart model, old battery arrangement, controller, charger connection, tray dimensions and usual route.
  • Choose energy and output: Compare kWh, current limits, case shape and mounting configuration for expected passengers, hills, accessory loads and return-trip reserve.
  • Install the complete kit: Following the cart and Epoch instructions, disconnect and recycle the old lead-acid bank, secure the lithium pack and connect the correct charger, gauge and 12V converter.
  • Test before longer trips: Verify charging, Bluetooth and dash readings, accessory operation, cable security and controller behavior on a short representative drive.

Do not combine the old lead-acid batteries with the new lithium traction bank. A straightforward conversion still depends on fitting the battery securely and matching the charger, controller and wiring to the selected model. Charging time varies with pack size, charger output and starting charge; a larger pack can take longer to fill even when it provides more time between charges.

Find the Right 48V Power for Your Cart

Epoch 48V lithium kits give compatible electric carts a practical upgrade from heavy, maintenance-intensive lead-acid banks. Choose the smaller case for regular short drives, more capacity for longer use or a high-output model when the controller and space call for it. Across the range, more routinely usable energy, steadier delivery and Bluetooth charge checks make it easier to plan the next trip.
