A battery compartment has only so much room, whether it sits in a camper, under a boat seat or beside an off-grid inverter. Traditional lead-acid batteries can occupy that space while leaving less practical energy than their nameplate capacity suggests. Epoch Eco Series Batteries bring LiFePO4 deep-cycle power to familiar 12V Group 24 and Group 31 sizes, with less weight, steady output and no flooded-cell watering.
The Epoch Eco Series collection currently has two models: a 100Ah battery for compact house and auxiliary systems, and a 314Ah battery that stores far more energy in a Group 31 case. Both include a protective battery management system and are built for 12V deep-cycle work. Eco keeps the feature set simple: neither model includes built-in Bluetooth monitoring or internal heating. If phone-based monitoring matters, an external Bluetooth shunt can be added to a suitable installation.
“Drop-in size” describes the approximate battery group and case, not a promise that every tray and charging system is ready. Measure cable and terminal clearance before swapping batteries. The larger model's handles and terminal bolts need more room than its base dimensions alone suggest. Choose by usable energy, current output and fit rather than assuming the highest amp-hour number suits every load.
Both Eco batteries are 12.8V nominal LiFePO4 with a built-in BMS, IP54 enclosure, 4,500-plus listed charge cycles and a six-year limited warranty (3 years free replacement, then 40% off MSRP on a replacement battery through Year 6). Neither is a cranking battery, self-heated model or Bluetooth-equipped pack. The difference is how much energy and continuous current each can supply in its case size.
| Eco model | Energy, output and case | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|
| 12V 100Ah Eco | 1.28kWh; 100A continuous; 21 lb; Group 24; 10.3 × 6.8 × 9 in. | Compact RV house power, electronics, small solar storage or a compatible 12V trolling motor. |
| 12V 314Ah Eco | 4.02kWh; 250A continuous; 57 lb; Group 31 base; 13.8 × 7.6 × 10 in. | Longer off-grid stays, larger house loads and suitably sized 12V inverter systems. |
In a 12V system, the 314Ah model holds a little more than three times the stored energy of the 100Ah model, while occupying a larger but still practical battery footprint. That can avoid assembling a bulky bank when the goal is to run a fridge, lights and other house loads through a longer stop. It does not mean the 314Ah model fits a Group 24 tray or that every inverter is compatible with its 250A continuous limit.
In a travel trailer or van, the 100Ah Eco can serve a measured list of lights, fans, controls and small appliances. The 314Ah model gives a larger reserve for a fridge, inverter-supported loads or a cabin solar setup when its case and wiring fit. Estimate watt-hours used between charge opportunities, then add a realistic reserve. Solar controllers, converters, alternator charging paths and inverter chargers all need settings that suit LiFePO4; an old lead-acid profile should not be assumed compatible.
For larger banks, Epoch publishes series and parallel limits for each model. Use batteries matched by model, age, capacity and state of charge, with correctly sized fuses, cables and a charger designed for the finished bank. Do not mix an Eco battery directly into the same bank with lead-acid. If a vehicle alternator is part of the charging plan, use an approved regulated or DC-to-DC charging arrangement rather than assuming its original house-battery circuit is suitable.
Eco's light weight can help a small boat or fishing setup carry power for a fish finder, lights, radio or a compatible 12V trolling motor without hauling a heavy flooded battery. The 314Ah case suits higher-energy house demands where a protected compartment and secure mount are available. Neither Eco model has an engine-start rating: retain a separate appropriate cranking battery or choose an explicitly cranking-rated model for that job.
IP54 means protection against limited dust entry and splashing water, not submersion. Keep the battery, terminals and connections out of standing water and protect them from impact. Eco does not contain a heater. Its BMS can block charging below the published safe temperature range, which matters in a winterized RV, cold-weather cabin or boat storage compartment.
Neither current Eco battery connects directly to the Epoch phone app. For a battery bank that needs app visibility, Epoch sells an optional Victron SmartShunt Bluetooth monitor. Properly installed and configured on the bank's negative path, it tracks voltage and current and estimates state of charge for a nearby phone using VictronConnect. It measures the system externally; it does not turn an Eco battery into a Bluetooth BMS or expose its internal cell data.
A shunt can make the reserve easier to read before leaving an anchorage or deciding to run an inverter overnight. Its setup must account for all charge and load paths, and the monitor should be selected for the bank's expected current. If built-in battery Bluetooth, internal heating or a different warranty is a requirement, consider an Epoch Essential 105Ah battery for a compatible Group 24 installation instead. Choose the model and monitoring approach that match the job.
The Eco BMS still provides protection against overcharge, excessive discharge, current, short circuits and unsafe temperatures without an app. A protective shutdown may stop attached loads, so plan reserve and circuit protection for essential equipment. External monitoring helps you see what the bank is doing; correct charging and installation remain the basis of reliable service.
Do not use an Eco house battery to start an engine, charge an unheated Eco below its specified temperature or place an IP54 case where it may sit in water. These checks are especially important when changing a multi-battery bank or combining shore, solar and alternator charging. A qualified installer can size the bank and protection where the old wiring or charging path is unclear.
Epoch Eco Series Batteries offer a strong lead-acid upgrade for owners who want dependable 12V deep-cycle energy without flooded-cell maintenance. The 21-pound Group 24 model keeps compact systems light; the 314Ah Group 31 model stores 4.02kWh in one case for longer house-power use. Both pair LiFePO4 chemistry with BMS protection and familiar battery sizes.
Browse the Epoch Eco Series batteries and choose an external shunt if Bluetooth bank monitoring is part of the plan. For model sizing, charger settings or a fit check, contact Epoch support with the old battery size, loads, charging equipment and available space.

Hella good battery
Gets the job done. I'll be buying more. Fast shipping too.
Almost Perfect
My battery failed at the end of August. I immediately tried to file a claim. Unfortunately the page I used to file was not working properly. After waiting two weeks, I called and discovered you never received my request. I refiled and my request was handled immediately. After 3 days of back and forth my claim was approved. It was shipped out and I received it a week later. Sadly it was already time to haul my boat out for the winter so it didn't make sense to reinstall the battery until next spring.
Great battery!
Took a pair of these out for their first big outing. Ran my ARB freezer for over a week without a charge. I think it still had half its capacity, but I won't know for sure until I get my Bluetooth monitor hooked up for the next trip. The other battery ran a charging station and starlink without a hitch. Terrific upgrade from a lead acid deep cycle.
