Epoch Elite Series Batteries

Epoch Elite Series Batteries

When an RV, boat or off-grid system needs more than occasional 12V lighting, battery space becomes valuable. Several lead-acid batteries can fill a compartment while supplying less routinely usable energy than their combined nameplate ratings suggest. Epoch Elite Series Batteries put high-capacity LiFePO4 storage, Bluetooth monitoring and system communication into a Group 8D-sized case designed for demanding house-power use.

The Epoch Elite Series collection includes V2 and V2-T models at 12V, 24V and 48V. All six list built-in BMS protection, internal heating, an IP67 enclosure, Bluetooth and compatible Victron communications. The 12V and 24V options store 5.89kWh per battery, while the 48V options store 5.12kWh. Choose the voltage your system actually uses, then size the battery and installation for the loads it must support.

More Practical Power in the Space You Have

  • Store substantial energy in one case: The 12V 460Ah and 24V 230Ah models each hold 5.89kWh in a Group 8D footprint; the 48V 100Ah models hold 5.12kWh in the same listed case size.
  • Use more of the rating: Lead-acid banks are commonly cycled conservatively for service life. LiFePO4 supports deeper routine use within the selected model's limits, improving practical energy from a comparable battery space.
  • Reduce battery weight: Epoch lists each Elite case at 97 pounds. One suitable case may replace multiple lead-acid batteries; actual weight and space savings depend on the bank it replaces.
  • Keep voltage steadier: Lithium's flatter discharge curve can support a more consistent supply to compatible inverters, pumps, refrigeration and electronics as the battery runs down.
  • Make charge visible: Bluetooth readings help you decide whether to run another appliance, continue a crossing or recharge before the next night off-grid.

All six collection batteries list a 20.8 × 8.5 × 12 inch Group 8D-sized case. That common footprint helps compare voltages, but amp-hours across different voltages are not a like-for-like energy measure: compare kilowatt-hours instead. A compact-looking case still needs a suitable tray, restraint, terminal clearance, cable space and access for service.

Energy and output also answer different questions. Kilowatt-hours help estimate how long lights, refrigeration or a measured inverter load can run between charges. The model's continuous and short-duration current limits determine whether it can start and sustain that load. Plan for inverter losses and a reserve rather than treating the entire nameplate energy as guaranteed appliance runtime.

Match the Elite Voltage and V2 or V2-T Design

Start with the existing electrical system, not the largest amp-hour figure. The collection pairs a V2 model with a V2-T model at each voltage. Both variants at a given voltage have the same listed energy and case dimensions; the V2-T adds an integrated, user-serviceable Class T fuse whose rating is specific to that battery. Downstream wiring and circuits still require appropriate protection.

Epoch Elite Series voltage choices
System voltage V2 and V2-T options Stored energy and a possible role
12V house system 460Ah V2 or 460Ah V2-T. 5.89kWh; large RV or marine house bank and suitably sized 12V inverter loads.
24V house system 230Ah V2 or 230Ah V2-T. 5.89kWh; compatible 24V marine, mobile or off-grid storage where current demand is verified.
48V house system 100Ah V2 or 100Ah V2-T. 5.12kWh; compatible higher-voltage inverter and energy-storage systems.
Each model is deep-cycle storage, not an engine-start battery. Check its published output, charging limits, enclosure fit and current manual before choosing an inverter or bank layout.

The V2-T's serviceable Class T fuse is rated differently on the 12V, 24V and 48V models. Choose it when that integrated protection suits an engineered installation; the V2 remains a protected BMS-equipped battery. The listed cycle ratings also vary by model, so compare the specific product rather than assigning one figure to the whole series. Every model currently shown carries an 11-year manufacturer warranty.

Check Charge Locally Over Bluetooth

A compatible phone near an Elite battery can show state of charge, voltage, temperature and other model-specific readings in the Epoch app. Check the house bank before starting an RV air conditioner through a suitable inverter, after a night of marine refrigeration or before leaving a remote campsite. Unlike a simple lead-acid voltage gauge, a battery-aware display makes it easier to judge remaining capacity through lithium's relatively flat voltage curve.

Bluetooth is a local connection. It does not by itself send a warning to a phone miles away. Keep a sensible energy reserve for critical loads even when the app shows charge remaining, and use a suitable bank-level view when multiple batteries or charging sources are involved.

Coordinate With Compatible Victron Equipment

Elite's communications can integrate with compatible Victron GX equipment to share battery information and support coordinated charging when the harness, network and settings are correctly installed. That is useful in a boat with shore and solar charging or an RV with an inverter/charger and several energy sources. Connected remote monitoring needs the appropriate GX device and network connection; it is separate from nearby Bluetooth access.

Communication does not remove the need to check cable sizes, fusing, charger behavior or the battery's published current limits. For a system without Victron equipment, configure the chargers to the selected Elite model's LiFePO4 requirements and consult the current manual. Do not rely on an old lead-acid equalization profile after upgrading.

For example, a liveaboard could review the battery after an overnight anchor period, then check whether solar charging is keeping up with refrigeration before switching on additional cabin loads. A camper owner could make the same check before running a high-draw appliance away from hookups. These decisions depend on the full system, not the battery alone.

Reliability for House Loads and Changing Weather

The integrated BMS monitors conditions such as excessive discharge, overcurrent and temperature. It helps protect the pack, but a protective cutoff can interrupt attached loads if a system exceeds its limits. Compare the battery's continuous and peak output with inverter demand, motor starts and other loads before installation. A fuse inside a V2-T case is one part of protection; each downstream circuit still needs correct wiring and overcurrent devices.

Elite batteries include internal heating for charging in cold conditions within the model's published operating requirements. Heating needs available charge power and does not make any charger setting or temperature safe by default. IP67 protects the battery enclosure against dust and temporary water exposure under the rating conditions; exposed terminals, network connectors and external equipment still need protected installation.

For an RV owner, fewer lead-acid cases can mean less battery watering and fewer interconnects to inspect. For a cruising boat, a high-capacity house battery can support lights and electronics without designating it as the engine's starter. For a cabin, matched lithium charging and clear battery data can make solar storage easier to manage. In every setting, actual runtime depends on the loads, inverter losses, charge sources and temperature.

Upgrade a Lead-Acid Bank in Four Steps

  • Map the system: Confirm 12V, 24V or 48V operation, daily watt-hours, inverter and motor surge needs, existing bank size and the battery compartment.
  • Select the Elite model: Compare energy, output, V2 or V2-T protection, Group 8D clearance and the charging and communication features the installation needs.
  • Build the connections: Recycle the old lead-acid bank, secure the new battery, size cables and downstream fuses, and set each charger for the chosen LiFePO4 model.
  • Verify the whole system: Test normal and peak loads, heating and charge behavior, local Bluetooth readings and Victron communication if installed.

Do not wire a new Elite battery directly into a lead-acid bank or assume a Group 8D-sized case guarantees a drop-in electrical conversion. Alternator-fed house banks may require a compatible regulated or DC-to-DC charging path. For multi-battery banks, large inverters or marine charging systems, a qualified installer can verify battery matching, protection and the communication setup.

Choose Connected Power That Fits the Job

Epoch Elite Series batteries suit house-power systems that need substantial LiFePO4 energy in limited space, Bluetooth charge visibility and properly configured system communication. V2 and V2-T provide choices at 12V, 24V and 48V, with the V2-T adding a user-serviceable Class T fuse. Select the battery whose voltage, output and installation requirements match the equipment it will run.

What Epoch Elite Series Batteries owners say

Recent reviews of the models on this page, collected by Okendo from customers after their purchase and shown newest first. Each review names the battery it is about; store-wide ratings are not mixed in.

  • Amazing!! I Love it!!

This battery has far exceeded all of my expectations. I’m an off grid outdoorsman, this battery is powering my 27’ camp trailer. The technology here is a game changer. Absolutely NO comparison. I had to modify the rack/tray (as pointed out by sales rep) to accommodate the larger footprint of the battery (it is larger in all 3 dimensions LWH). 11 yr warranty! It’s a no brainer! First trip out 5 days. Lights, showers, pumped 35+ gallons water, phone chargers etc. still sitting at 13.4 volts. Same as when we started. (Did not need to run heat/AC). My old batteries would have been toast.

  • It just fit

It was tight replacing my 2 4D’s but I now have twice the capacity with less weight than 1 of the previous batteries. I still have to get used the to idea that my system is happy at less than 100% charge. Everything works perfectly.
